day 3:  excursion to mexico city

Today we will explore one of the most dynamic cities on the Earth.  We will travel as a group to Mexico City where we will seek inspiration through the lens of Mexican Artist Emily Grieves as she takes us on a personal tour of Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul.  We will lunch at an exquisite restaurant and make a pilgrimage to the Mother at the Bascillica of Guadalupe. That evening we will come together for an Imbolc Ceremony to anchor in the energies of rebirth.

Day 4:  iMBOLC!

On Day 4 the sun will rise over Teotihuacan and shed light on our intentions for the year with the turn of the Wheel of the Year to Imbolc.  Imbolc is a sacred and important turn in the Celtic Calendar year, marking the midway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. This is the beginning of spring! The themes are Renewal and Rebirth and it is a perfect time to clear out the old (spring cleaning) and set our sights on the year ahead. We will journey to the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and explore the space underneath.  After we reemerge, we will return to the Villa and begin our work setting our intentions and creating our vow to ourselves.

This place is a little paradise located at the base of a canyon in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Hidalgo is known for the natural thermal springs that emerge all around the state. Grutas de Tolantongo is one of the birthplaces of these water springs.  The water emerges from a cave creating an amazing interior pool crowned by a waterfall. Beyond this, a great river flows from the cave creating little pools on its route down the canyon.
